ALS of Nevada

ALS of Nevada is an independent not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) organization serving ALS pALS throughout Nevada. It is our goal to serve all persons and their families living with and fighting ALS in Nevada – one pALS at a time. We work extensively to provide much-needed programs that offer emotional, physical and financial assistance. The Perkins Company helps ALS of Nevada to monitor pending issues that may affect programs and services available to ALS pALS.

Arts 4 Nevada

2008-2010

Arts 4 Nevada is a grassroots organization that advocates for the fine arts in communities across the state. In 2009, The Perkins Company worked with lawmakers to ensure that, through the unprecedented budget-cutting process, arts programs could be preserved.

B&E Auto/SNAP Towing

2010-2011

B&E has been a Henderson-based business for decades. Tow yards and tow lots can be a source of significant convenience for consumers looking for a deal on a vehicle – they can also be a source of major frustration for somebody whose car has been towed. The Perkins Company works with government agencies to draft regulations that allow for the best possible consumer experience.

Capability Health & Human Services

2019-Present

Capability Health & Human Services is an innovative healthcare and human services non-profit that serves families and children who have been diagnosed with developmental delays and other disorders and adults with physical and intellectual limitations.

City of Henderson

2008-Present

The City of Henderson is Nevada’s second-largest city. Cities in Nevada are not granted home rule and, as such, are required to seek legislative approval for even the most minor changes to the law. Furthermore when cities faced the threat of the legislature forcing them to provide more services and, frankly, reach into the cookie jar. The Perkins Company worked with the City of Henderson’s team to promote a wide-ranging agenda that dealt with everything from HOAs to Sewers and from Budgets to Public Safety.

Clark County

2019-Present

Clark County, formed in 1909, is named for Sen. William Andrews Clark (1839-1925), who established the railroad that linked Los Angeles with Salt Lake City. Las Vegas was founded in 1905 after Clark’s railroad, which made stops here, purchased land for a town site and sold lots by auction, creating downtown Las Vegas. Clark County is the most populous of Nevada’s 17 counties with 2.3 million residents and 70 percent of the state’s population.

Diageo

2009

Diageo is one of the world’s largest producers of spirits, wine and beers. When the legislature was poised to raise taxes on their product, Diageo relied on The Perkins Company to protect their interests and to stay up-to-date in the Nevada Legislature. These taxes never even came up for a vote.

Family Focused Treatment Association

2019-Present

FFTA is an international association of providers of treatment family care specializing in mental and behavioral health care for children and families experiencing complex traumas. FFTA has practicing professionals in 49 of the 50 states, 4 Canadian provinces and territories, and 4 countries, comprising 488 agency members that annually serve over 44,000 youth. Our members are committed to sustaining and strengthening families (biological, kinship, non-relative foster care, and post-adoption), regardless of citizenship status.

Frias Transportation

2008-2014

Frias Transportation is Nevada’s largest taxicab operator. Frias is a deeply rooted corporate citizen in the Las Vegas community. While their legislative portfolio is expansive, their primary interests are in bills that will serve the fare-paying public. When a bill arose in 2009 that im­posed burdensome new requirements on taxi operators, The Perkins Company worked swiftly to ensure the bill did not see the light of day. In 2011, Frias came to the legislature with a sig­nificant package of changes–some fairly controversial–to the way taxis are regulated. The entire package passed.

General Electric

2008-2015

GE is one of the largest companies in the world, spanning from home and industrial technology to entertainment to energy development. General Electric’s Energy Division employs more than 800 Nevadans just outside of Minden. The Perkins Company has worked with GE for years, monitoring their legislative and regulatory interests.

HealthHIE Nevada

The HealtHIE Nevada health information exchange (HIE) provides electronic connection among physicians, hospitals, labs and other health care organizations. Patient encounters, medication information, medical images, test results and care summaries are delivered instantly, accurately and securely when and where they are needed, instead of waiting for faxes or mail, allowing you to focus on the patient at the point of care.

Hewlett Packard

2010-2017

Founded in 1939, HP is a technology company that operates in more than 170 countries around the world. Currently, HP is the world’s largest information technology company. Its worldwide revenue topped $114 billion in 2009 – landing them ninth on the Fortune 500 ranking. The Per­kins Company works with legislators and regulators for HP’s Medicaid tracking and analytical services.

InsureNet

2008-Present

InsureNet, Inc. is an insurance verification system that partners with governments to increase revenues by issuing fines to uninsured drivers. The Perkins Company works with lawmakers and InsureNet officials to form new public-private partnerships that create public revenues while ad­dressing insurance and registration fraud.

Intel

2013-2015

Intel began with a vision for semiconductor memory products and within a few short years had introduced the world’s first microprocessor. Since then, Intel has established a heritage of innovation that continues to expand the reach and promise of computing while advancing the ways people work and live worldwide. Intel continues to be a leading resource in the technology industry and uses The Perkins Company to assist in providing information and guidance for information technology projects.

International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 357 and The National Electrical Contractors Assn., Las Vegas

2008-2016

IBEW 357 and NECA formed a committee to ensure the advancement of the electri­cal industry in Nevada. The Perkins Company works with this committee on renewable energy issues to create new jobs for electrical workers and contractors across the state, while simultane­ously expanding Nevada’s renewable energy economy.

The LandWell Company

2018-2019

The LandWell Company is the long-standing land investment and development arm of Basic Management, Inc., which has successfully developed more than 1,200 acres of retail, light industrial, commercial and residential projects in the Henderson area. The company’s successful projects include Black Mountain Industrial Center, Valley Auto Mall, Traverse Point, Entrada, Champion Village and Emerald Valley.

MGM Resorts International

2016-Present

MGM Resorts International is a collection of resort-casinos, residential living and retail developments, the largest employer in Nevada and one of its best corporate citizens. MGM Resorts provides input and leadership on a number of policies at the local, state, and federal levels of government and is an international leader in sustainability.

MWH is comprised of more than 180 global offices in 35 countries, operating on six continents bringing highly trained engineers, managers, consultants, policy and project advocates, informational technologists, economists, statisticians, public relations professionals and financial experts together. The Perkins Company consults with MWH to maximize its presence and contributions to Nevada.

Nevada Health Care Association

Nevada Health Care Association is a nonprofit association dedicated to providing leadership and support and to advocate for post-acute care facilities while working to improve the quality of care in Nevada’s skilled nursing, assisted living and other post-acute care settings.

Nevada Physical Therapy Association

2017-Present

The Nevada Physical Therapy Association (NPTA) is a non-profit professional organization that represents more than 600 physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and physical therapy students in Nevada.  The NPTA was incorporated in 1999 to support, promote, and advocate for the profession of Physical Therapy in Nevada.  The NPTA works with state agencies in the implementation of administrative rules and policies governing physical therapy practice.  The primary purpose of the NPTA is to meet the physical therapy needs of society, to meet the needs and interests of its members, and to develop and improve the art and science of physical therapy including practice, education, and research.

Nevada Press Association

2017-2019

Nevada Press Association is the formal trade organization for news publications in the state of Nevada. It is a voluntary non-profit organization that represents daily and weekly news publications in Nevada and the Lake Tahoe region of Northern California, as well as online news services, magazines and others. The history of NPA dates back to 1888, when an association of Nevada newspapers was first organized.

Nevada State Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors

2017

The Nevada State Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors licenses and regulates the alcohol, drug and gambling counselors in Nevada. The Board of Examiners hired The Perkins Company to help prevent consolidation of all the mental health boards and to further help with other regulatory matters at the legislative level.

Nevada State Cable Telecommunications Association

2008-2009

The same cables that bring you The Sopranos are also one of the most complex regulatory struc­tures we have experienced. The NSCTA hired the Perkins Company to protect Cable Television providers in Nevada from cumbersome regulation at the legislative level.

Nevada State Medical Association

2013-Present

The NSMA is an association of physicians across the State of Nevada that seeks to improve the health care system and the delivery of health care to patients. Physician members of the NSMA participate in any number of charitable organizations and educational efforts to further the NSMA objectives of improving the delivery of health care. During the 2013 Legislative Session, the NSMA and The Perkins Company worked together to ensure that patient safety was protected, and that Nevada will continue to work towards a better system of care.

Nevada’s natural resource mining tradition has made the Silver State a key player in the precious metals industry. Newmont is one of the largest mining companies on the planet and the second-largest in Nevada. Newmont uses The Perkins Company to monitor their legislative interests in the state of Nevada and throughout the west.

NextEra Energy

NextEra Energy is a leading clean energy company with more than 42,000 megawatts of generating capacity and more than 15,000 employees across 26 states and Canada. The Perkins Company has assisted NextEra Energy in navigating Nevada’s regulatory and legislative processes to bring clean energy and jobs to the State.

Opportunity Village

2008-2019

Opportunity Village is one of Southern Nevada’s largest charities. Opportunity Village provides intellectually disabled people in Southern Nevada employment, vocational training and recre­ational services. The Perkins Company President Richard Perkins sits on the Opportunity Village Foundation Board, and looks out for their interests in and outside the legislative session.

Reno Rodeo

2019-Present

The “Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West,” the Reno Rodeo is a 10-day event. The Reno Rodeo is a PRCA sanctioned sporting event. Reno Rodeo is a non-profit organization made up of almost 1000 volunteers. Over 140,000 fans will be in attendance for the 4th richest PRCA tour rodeo. The event impacts the Reno/Sparks area economy with $42 million going to hotels, casinos, restaurants, and retail.

RBF Consulting

2009-2012

RBF is a nationwide engineering firm that approached The Perkins Company to assist them in building new connections with the business and political community in Nevada.

SFR Investments

2013-2017

The housing market in Nevada is at a critical point of improvement and to that SFR Investments help to rehabilitate foreclosed properties and prepare those properties for resale to new homeowners. Several bills concerning the manner in which certain foreclosures should be handled were introduced during the 2013 Legislative Session. The Perkins Company worked on common interest community legislation on behalf of SFR Investments to ensure that homeowners and home owner associations can continue to collect assessments and improve their neighborhoods.

SiComm.Net is an e-procurement company that works with large companies and governments at every level to streamline the purchasing process. SiComm works with the Perkins Company to expand its portfolio into the state of Nevada.

Washoe county is the second most populous county in Nevada and dedicates its self to working together regionally to provide and sustain a safe, secure and healthy community.

Washoe School Principals Association

2019-Present

Washoe School Principals’ Association (WSPA) has been supporting administrators in Washoe County since 1998. WSPA is recognized as the exclusive bargaining representative for the Washoe County School District Board of Trustees and both, the Board of Trustees and WSPA, recognize a common responsibility to work together in cooperation in order to achieve high quality education and to cooperate in their common aims and their employer-employee relationships.

Western Cab and Limousine Company

Western Cab and Limousine Company has been operating in Las Vegas for over 45 years and provides a valued service to the community and its many visitors. The Perkins Company monitors legislation and provides representation for Western Cab before the Nevada Legislature.

Worldwide Environmental Products

2011-2015

Wynn Las Vegas is a developer, owner and operator of destination casino resorts. For decades, Wynn has changed the face of gaming and the Perkins Company was proud to help them in 2011 by passing AB459, which expanded the Las Vegas Boulevard Gaming Corridor to allow for future expansion of their property. In 2011, Wynn also worked to revolutionize the way Public Education was managed in Nevada, tapping the Perkins Company to help usher a comprehensive package of education reforms through the Nevada Legislature.
